Introduction

Your portable Electronic Air Purifier is ideal for larger size rooms and continuous operation. For best results, operate your air cleaner continuously at low speed.

Please take time to read this instruction leaflet. Your air cleaning system features a washable Electronic Filter – just wash dry and reuse. The outside of the mobile air cleaner can be cleaned using a soft, clean, damp cloth. Never immerse the unit in water.

How the Air Purifier Works

Polluted air is drawn into the unit through the top half of the front grille. The fan pulls in dirty air and the pre-filter traps large particles (hair, lint, etc). The smaller particles (dust, smoke, pollen) in the dirty air receive a positive electrical charge as they pass through the ionizing section of the electronic filter. The positive charged particles then enter the collecting section which uses a series of alternately charged aluminium plates to attract and retain the particles. It works like a powerful magnet and the
particles remain fixed to the plates through natural adhesion until removed by the washing process. The air the passes through a charcoal filter that helps to remove household odours. Clean air is discharged back into the room through the bottom half of the front grille.

SAFETY NOTE: Do not use this electronic air cleaner when oxygen or combustible gases are being used.

Getting Started

This mobile Air Purifier can be used in any room in the workplace as long as air can freely circulate into the upper and out through the lower grille. The unit should never be placed on soft surfaces, near computers, radios, or near sources of heat.

Operation

The operation of the mobile unit is simple. Power the unit by pressing the On/Off button and then press the button corresponding to the desired speed. Your Electronic Air Purifier is designed for continuous operation which provides maximum efficiency in removing airborne pollutants.

Trouble Shooting

Mobile air cleaner unit fails to turn on

Make sure that the power cord is plugged in
Set the On / Off switch to On
Set the fan to the desired speed
Make sure the filter access cover is properly installed
Make sure the filter assembly is properly installed

Mobile air cleaner unit does not remove pollutants

Wash the electronic filter and metal mesh pre-filter

Mobile air cleaner unit make noises such as arcs, crackling and popping

Wash the electronic filer and pre-filter and dry thoroughly
Clean or replace charcoal filter
Occasional snapping or arcing sound is normal
Prolonged or continuous arcing is an indication that the filter has been damaged. If this is the case, call London Cool on 0800 440 444

Mobile air cleaner unit does not operate properly

My Air Purifier makes a snapping sound….

You may notice an occasional snapping or arcing sound coming from your unit. This is a normal occurrence that happens when large are electrically charged in the Electronic Filter. Prolonged or continuous arcing is an indication that the Pre-filter, Electronic Filter, and / or Charcoal Filter should be cleaned or has been damaged.

Sometimes I notice an unfamiliar smell when I turn the unit on.

Sometimes you may notice a ‘new smell’ (like being outdoors after an electrical storm) during the first few weeks of operation. This is not unusual during the break-in period. This unit emits very low levels of ozone however it is less than a typical electrical appliance in your home, such as a television.
