Acclimatiser Operating Instructions

PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD THESE INSTRUCTIONS FULLY BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO OPERARE THIS UNIT.

General Safety

  • Never place anything on top of the unit and never obstruct its air inlet / outlet grilles.
  • Leave a 300mm gap all around the unit to let the air circulate
  • Always switch OFF and unplug the unit when not in use
  • Never move the unit while it is in operation, the fan is vertically extended or when the water bottles are full

Electrical Safety

  • This fan unit plugs into a standard 230v 13Amp power supply
  • The 5 metre mains supply lead is fitted with a moulded plug which is fitted with a 13 Amp fuse
  • DO NOT FLASH TEST ABOVE 1250v. PERMANENT DAMAGE WILL OCCUR
  • Extension leads should be correctly rated for the inductive load, fully unwound, loosely coiled and never run through water or over sharp edges
  • To reduce the risk of electric shock, use a suitable RCD (residual current device)
  • Never pull the unit by the lead
  • Ensure the unit and power socket are both switched OFF before plugging into the power supply

Setup and Operation

  • Set the unit up on a firm, level surface and so not site the unit close to any personnel wearing contact lenses, sensitive to any dust movement, hay-fever suffers etc. This unit moves either air only and/or air with ultra fine water mist. Minute particles of dust/pollen etc will also be moved during operation, so careful location and fan angle/height will require consideration.
  • The body of the fan is held in position via the side mounted hand wheels. To adjust, slacken the wheels to allow the fan body to be moved. Once the desired angle is reached, ensure the hand wheels are turned hand tight to prevent any movement.
  • The height of the fan head can also be adjusted. Carefully grasp the bottom of the fan support (yoke), ensuring the two frame mounted hand wheels are loosened. Lift the ‘’yoke’’ to the height required and then fully tighten the hand wheels
  • Note: The overall height adjustment is limited by the water and electrical cables/hoses. Ensure these are not stretched

DO NOT OPERATE THE UNIT UNTIL THE WATER CONTAINERS ARE FILLED AND CONNECTED CORRECTLY AS DETAILED BELOW:

  • The unit is supplied with two empty water containers, each with a 25 litre capacity
  • One has male fitting protruding from the top of the screw cap; the other just has a plain cap
  • The unit can only be used with a tank that has the above referred cap fitting, which can be transferred from each tank depending on requirements
  • To fill the fitting-equipped tank, carefully unscrew the cap and remove it complete with the intake hose that also combines an inline filter
  • Fill the tank with tap water, then carefully feed the filter intake hose assembly back into the tank and firmly screw the cap back on such that it is hand tight. Do not over tighten
  • The water filled tank then needs to be connected to the units main input hose via the push fit female connector, ensuring that the hose is fed under the frames horizontal flat steel bar
  • This is important to note, because if the unit is required to be raised to its full working height then the hose would become trapped and possibly damaged
  • The second tank can be filled with water and stored on the units base ready for when the main tank starts to become empty
  • To change the tank over, first switch the pump OFF from ‘I’ to ‘O’ on the control panel fitted to the top of the fan, then realise the female push fit tank connector fitting by depressing the silver part of the female connector
  • Then unscrew the cap and remove it complete with the intake filter hose assembly
  • Having removed the plain cap on the water filled ‘spare’ tank fit the filter hose assembly as previously described
  • The put the plain cap back on the empty tank once filled with water, and store back on the units base
  • The air flow from the fan exits from the side with the rocker switch controls on it (the front). The intake side is opposite
  • Plug the unit into a normal 13amp 3pin socket 230v, 50Hz electrical supply and switch the supply ON
  • Press the FAN ON rocker switch mounted on the front of the unit to ON ‘’I’’. The fan will start to operate
  • To produce a fine water mist, having ensured that the relevant water containers are water filled and connected correctly as described previously, press the PUMP ON rocker switch on the front of the unit. The pump will then operate and will produce a fine water mist from the two grille mounted front nozzles

Equipment Care and Storage

  • Never use this product for anything other than its intended purpose
  • Keep the equipment clean and especially the grille faces. Blow out the grilles with compressed air if ‘clogged’ up
  • Never move the unit while in operation
  • Switch the unit OFF and unplug from its power supply, wrap the cable around the storage ears on the side of the fan moulding
  • The intake hose as fitted within the water container has a factory fitted filter
  • If the unit pulses when producing a fine mist, switch the unit off and check the filter
  • If the filter appears clogged, replace the filter with a new one.

Trouble Shooting

Always consult this guide before ringing, as the majority of reported problems are simply solved using the following trouble shooting guide.

PROBLEM

LIKELY CAUSE

SOLUTION

Unit fails to operate in fan mode

Power failure

Check that the unit is plugged into the power supply

Check the plugs fuse for failure and correct 13Amp rating

Water mist is not being produced

The water tank on the unit is empty

Check the water level in the water container

Make sure that the female fitting is connected to the tanks male fitting

The filter in the tank is blocked

Check the filter for a blockage

Power failure

See power failure section

Unit produces pulsing noise/effect when running in pump mode or appears to make large water droplets

The intake water feed female filter is partially blocked

Check the filter in the tank for a blockage. Either remove the blockage or get the filter replaced

The water level is low in the water tank

Refill the water tank or change the water containers over

Poor airflow

The units grilles are dirty

Blow compressed air through the grilles to clean

Air inlet grilles are obstructed

Remove the obstruction
