Portable Electric Heater –
FF18 Operating instructions

IMPORTANT NOTE

FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS COULD DAMAGE THIS EQUIPMENT & WILL INVALIDATE THE WARRANTY

Operating Instructions for your FF18 portable heater

Please ensure that you have read and understood these instructions fully, before attempting to operate this equipment.

General Safety
Never place anything on top of the unit and never obstruct its air intake / exhaust grills.
Leave a 600mm gap all round the unit to let the air circulate
Always switch OFF and unplug the unit when not in use
In areas where several heaters are used simultaneously the positioning of the units is an important consideration

Electrical Safety
These models connect to a standard 4 pin (or 5 pin) 32 amp 415v 3 phase 50Hz power supply socket via its mains lead (an inline plug will need to be fitted), they do not require a neutral & are not Phase Rotationally Sensitive.  All power cable and plug/socket connections MUST be carried out by a qualified electrician.  The units will not be supplied on a Rental or Sale basis with a plug and they may not have any cable.

THESE MODELS ARE DESIGNED FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY. DO NOT USE EXTERNALLY.

  • Extension leads should be, correctly rated for inductive load, fully unwound, loosely coiled and never run through water or over sharp edges
  • Ensure the machine is set to fan only and the electrical supply is switched OFF before plugging into the power supply
  • Never remove any panels / covers whilst the unit is connected to electrical supply
  • If problems are experienced, contact London Cool on 0800 440 444, if the problem cannot be easily & safely rectified
  • Competent personnel in accordance with the instructions or supplier guidelines should only attempt maintenace

FF18 Set up & Operation

Do not site the unit close to soft fabrics, which could be sucked over the intake grill, blocking airflow into the unit causing it to then overheat. Allow an air gap of at least 600mm to the front, side and rear of the unit to ensure a clear airflow.

To Start
Connect to a suitable electrical supply
The mode selector switch has the following settings

  • O Fan only. As a safety feature, the fan motor is designed to run IMMEDIATLEY upon application of power. Ensure that the fan is running before proceeding further
  • Select the desired heat output
    1.9kw
    18kw

Maximum ducting length 10m with 10’’ duct. Do not exceed or permanent damage to the heater WILL be the result. Keep ducting as taut and as straight as possible, avoiding kinks and sharp bends. Do not restrict the ducting outlet with grills

To Stop
Move the mode selector switch to position O. Fan only and leave the unit in the fan only mode for 5 minutes MINIMUM to allow the elements to cool,
Once the units heat has been dissipated disconnect from the electrical supply
It is now safe to move unit
Failure to observe these instructions could result in damage to the elements
The FF18 portable heater is fitted with safety limit thermostats. Should the design operating temperature be exceeded, they will open the elements. These will automatically rest as the temperature reduces.
Maximum ambient working temperature is 40 degrees centigrade
