Ducting

Ejector Duct

To fit through suspended ceiling:

Remove coiling tile, locate tapered end of ejector duct into the opening.
Position the air conditioner unit underneath, lower the duct onto the exhaust hot air spigot

To fit as a spot cooler:

Position the air conditioning unit in the required location
Place the ejector duct onto the exhaust hot air spigot
The duct will then project warm air up to 5.5 meters eliminating the need for flexible ducting

Flexible Ducting

Attach the flexible ducting to the hot air spigot
Position the other end of the flexible ducting to a suitable exit point for discharge of the warm air

NOTE: Do not move the unit with the ejector nozzle attached

Control Panel

Operating Instructions:

Plug in the unit
Turn the switch to on, on the control panel

(When the unit is switched on there is a 3 minute delay before the cooling system starts. This is NOT a fault)

Cool:

On this setting the unit delivers maximum (boost) cooling. A significant proportion of the total cooling will be dehumidified, depending in the conditions in which the unit is operating

Dehum:

The unit delivers reduced total cooling capacity, but a higher proportion of the cooling will be removing the moisture

Warning Indicators

Drain tank full:

When this indicator light comes on the unit should be switched off
Then turn the two restraining fasteners on the lower front panel anti-clockwise
Lower the panel and remove the drain tank
Lift the red cap and empty the container
Replace the cap and return the container to its compartment, keeping the red cap to the left hand side
Secure the front panel by turning the fasteners clockwise
Switch the unit back on

Pressure trip:

Should this indicator light come on, switch the unit off and contact London Cool on 0800 440 444

Frost Stat Trip:

This indicator is activated when the temperature goes below 14°C
It deactivates the cooling cycle but not the circulating fans
Cooling will be reactivated when the temperature rises or the unit is moved to a warmer area

Thermostat Setting

Room thermostat:

The unit has an adjustable thermostat which can be accessed by removing the four screws on the mounting plate for the flexible cool-air hosing (or front grille, if fitted).
The control knob is on the right-hand side of the compartment. Adjustment is made by reference to the mark on the plate behind the knob. (Note: the minimum setting is 17°C)

Routine Maintenance – Operating Safeguards

The following safeguards should be carefully adhered to at all times while running the unit.

The unit must not be moved while it is in operation. Always turn the unit off before moving and remove the plug from the power outlet
When moving the unit should not be tilted or overturned. Always keep upright
All air vents, filters and grilles must remain free of obstructions that would prevent the free circulation of air in the vicinity of the unit
No objects should ever be inserted into the ducts or grilles
Never disconnect the plug from the power socket by pulling the cable
Should water begin leaking from the unit, switch the power supply off and empty the drain tank. If the problem persists, check the drain tank has been properly inserted (red cap to the left hand side). Check for possible damage to the tank which may be causing a leak and if damaged contact London Cool on 0800 440 444. Should any of these steps not remedy the problem please contact London Cool on 0800 440 444
Never touch the unit with wet or dirty hands

Routine Maintenance
In order to ensure the optimum performance from this unit please read and follow the below instructions:

Air filters: During operation, the air filters should be removed at least every two weeks. These are located at the front (larger panel) and the back of the unit, and can be removed by first turning the restraining fasteners anti-clockwise. In general it is sufficient to vacuum duct etc from the filters. However, for heavily soiled filters, the following procedures should be carried out:

Remove the filter elements at the front and back of the unit
Submerge the filter elements in cool/lukewarm water, moving it back and forth to cleanse it. If the filters are particularly dirty, first leave them soaking in soapy water for 10-15 minutes, the clean as described above
The elements should be dry before using
Do not use solvents (e.g. thinners or petrol) to clean the filter elements

When cleaned and dry the filters are replaced in the panels and these are secured by turning the fasteners clockwise

Safeguards
The following safeguards in respect to the positioning of the unit should be strictly adhered to. This information should be kept in a safe place for future reference.

Do NOT operate the unit in a potentially explosive or combustible atmosphere, or in an area which is fitted with an anti-explosive type switch
Do NOT operate the unit in an area where corrosive gasses are present, or where such gasses might arise. This is particularly relevant in factory situations
Do NOT operate the unit in areas of extremely high temperatures and humidity. This unit should not be run in conditions exceeding 40°C (100°F) and a coincident relative humidity of greater than 50%
Do NOT place the unit in direct sunlight
Do NOT position the unit near flammable materials
Do NOT allow water or other liquids to spill on the casing of the unit
Do NOT place the unit on an uneven surface or in a place that is prone to vibration. Ensure that the floor is strong enough to support the weight of the unit
Do NOT use the unit outdoors. It is designed for INDOOR USE ONLY

Trouble Shooting

Should you unit fail to start, first check that there is power at your outlet socket. Then check your plug for a faulty fuse or loose connection. If the unit still does not respond, please call London Cool on 0800 440 444
Warning: All internal electrical and mechanical maintenance must be undertaken by authorised personnel
Should you experience a lack of air movement or insufficient cooling please check the following:

Is there a hidden heat source in the area you are trying to cool?? If so, remove the heat source
Is sunlight shinning directly into the room??If so, pull back the curtains or the blinds
Check that the filters are not blocked. If so, clean the air filters
