Keeping healthcare staff, patients and visitors safe and comfortable during the heatwave

With the NHS turning 70, we thought it a good time to share some of the news on how we have helped to support our local healthcare providers during the heatwave.

Many hospital or health centres have needed extra cooling to keep patients, staff and visitors comfortable and safe.  We have delivered a number of KY32 portable air conditioners  to a General Hospital in Surrey, while another hopsital near Guildford needed some Ningbo KT14 evaporative coolers, each designed to cool an area of approximately 20 to 25 square metres.

A world-famous cancer hopsital in London requested some KY32 3.2Kw portable air conditioners and we also supplied some KT14 evaporative coolers and Climatemaster 14000s to an NHS Foundation Trust.

With a wide range of activities and purpose-designed spaces in hospitals, keeping the temperatures at a safe and comfortable level can be challenging.  A report commissioned by NHS Estates, illustrates this with recommended temperatures for specific areas  –

  • Bedhead/wards – 22-24 ºC
  • Circulation spaces (wards) – 19-24 ºC
  • Consulting/treatment rooms – 22-24 ºC
  • Nurses’ stations – 19-22 ºC
  • Operating theatres – 17-19 ºC

Our support also extends to the ambulance service.  We are providing many portable cooling units to an Ambulance NHS Foundation Trust, an ambulance tation and to a regional Air Ambulance organisation.

Despite the continuing hot weather keeping London Cool extremely busy, rest assured that we can still supply the most appropriate portable air conditioners  or evaporative coolers for use in your healthcare facility.  In most cases we can arrange same day or next day delivery, depending on the exact location and the time of day the order was received.
