It is no longer legal to top up or replenish a system using R22 gas.  Daikin UK will continue to supply spare parts for systems originally sold as R22. This legislation relates to the gas not the equipment. 

 

Daikin offer a selection of R22 replacement technologies for Split / SkyAir and VRV ranges that allow the re-use of pipework to minimise the costs of replacement and disruption to the customers’ business.

 

Statement from the Environment Agency:

The Fluorinated Gases and Ozone Depleting Substance Regulations state, maintenance requiring the joining of 2 or more pieces of equipment or circuits should only be undertaken by a qualified engineers and if containing HFC gas, from an F-gas Certified Company.  After 31st December 2014, the use of HCFC gas will no longer be legal if required to top up / replenish your equipment, this includes recovered gas.”
